Scott Cook is the owner and
operator of Fly and Field Outfitters he is also the
head guide on the Cascade Lakes. His love for the
sport of fly fishing and the Central Oregon area is
obvious the second you walk in the door. He has
guided and fly fished the waters around Bend for the
past twenty years. Scott’s home water is Crane
Prairie though you have a good chance spotting him
chasing just about any species or in any time zone
that will put a bend in that fly rod.

Steve Light From his Granadma’s catfish pond with a Snoopy pole at age six to a fourteen foot spey rod on the Lower Deschutes River today, Steve has lived fishing his whole life. Spending the last eighteen years as an Oregonian he has dedicated thirteen of that to professional guiding. His specialty is the Deschutes river multi day fly fishing trips, but you can find him “gettin’ wet” from the flats of Carribbean to the mountain waters of Central Oregon. Steve’s passion for the fly is exemplified in his ability to teach and excite all levels of anglers..

Dave Merrick is our local “retired
guide” he now serves as Fly & Field's shop manager,
a term he uses quite loosely....Dave was born and
raised in Oregon and has been fishing Central Oregon
waters since grade school. In 1987 Dave moved to the
Bend area full time and began guiding the Lower
Deschutes River the same year. In 98' Dave took his
"guiding career" to Bristol Bay Alaska where he
spent 6 seasons in Katmai National Park as a guide
and eventually head guide at Kulik Lodge, thus
making him Fly & Field's resident Brown Bear
"expert". A Federation of Fly Fishers certified
casting instructor since 89', Dave has appeared on
ESPN's Fly Fishing the World and Destination
Outdoors. |
