CROOKED RIVER REPORT - 7/3/26

The Crooked River continues to fish well, with flows remaining in good shape for both wading and consistent trout activity. Fish are holding in deeper runs, softer seams, and tailouts, while oxygen-rich riffles continue to produce throughout the day.

Caddis remain the primary hatch, with PMDs and midges providing additional surface opportunities during the afternoon and evening. Dry fly fishing has continued to improve, especially during lower light periods, with fish consistently looking up when hatches become concentrated.

Subsurface presentations continue to produce the most consistent action. Small scuds, Zebra Midges, olive Perdigons, Two Bit Hookers, Pheasant Tails, and mayfly nymphs have all been productive, while small leech patterns continue to move larger fish through deeper buckets. Focus on natural drifts with lighter tippet and make frequent fly changes until you dial in the day's preference.
