Crooked River Update

Crooked River Update

The Crooked river yet busy has been a great hot spot for Euro Nymphing and dry flies in the early afternoon. Midges under an indicator or Euro style nymphing will be most productive in the mornings while you wait on the mayflies to start flying anywhere from 10am-1pm. Once fish start rising you can focus on dry flies such as PMDs like the Hackle Stacker or the Para Wulff PMD, size 16-20. Help keep those fish wet and healthy with a Ketchum Releasetool from our shop. Dry droppers are a go to this time of year and are the best way to target actively feeding fish. We vary the depth of our droppers based on water and bug activity. Fishing a deep midge nymph in slower pools or a small soft hackle/emerger close to the surface.
