Fall River Report 03/19/2021

Loving the Fall lately with good reports of anglers getting some great top water action in the afternoon on mostly baetis. The fish are expecting those bugs but also the daily angler so get away from the main access points and find some fish that havens seen a fly every 10-20 minutes. Finding less pressured fish is key when fishing the fall and is a great time to practice your stealthy ninja like fishing skills. Crawling in the grass to get into position is worth it when that fish comes for your fly without a second thought and sucks er’ down like our vacuum eating midges in the shop. The fishing should keep improving with spring arriving and there are plenty of trout still in the river thanks to work by ODFW to keep them from running straight to the Deschutes. Caddis, baetis, small yellow mayflies and midges are all on the menu for the next week and fishing should be great!
