FALL RIVER REPORT - 10/23/26

The Fall River continues to offer excellent fishing as we move into the final stretch of October. Consistent spring-fed flows and recent trout stocking are keeping opportunities around deeper slots, weed edges, and submerged structure.

Dry-fly fishing remains productive, with BWOs providing opportunities during the late morning and PMDs becoming more prominent into the afternoon. Amber caddis and small midges remain part of the mix, while ants, beetles, and larger attractor dries continue to be worth having available.

Subsurface fishing continues to be productive with Perdigons, PMD and BWO nymphs, Zebra Midges, scuds, and smaller attractor patterns all worth having in the rotation. Balanced leeches and small streamers remain good options around deeper slots and structure, with dead-drifting, swinging, and stripping all providing opportunities. Fall River below Fall River Falls is seasonally closed to angling through May 21, 2027, while the river above the falls is open year-round.
