FALL RIVER REPORT - 10/9/26
The Fall River continues to offer good fishing as we settle into October. Consistent spring-fed flows and cooler fall weather are keeping conditions favorable. Deeper slots, weed edges, and submerged structure continue to hold fish and are worth time to get the right drift.
BWOs and midges are becoming the primary focus, particularly during cooler and overcast conditions. PMDs and smaller caddis remain part of the mix, with good dry-fly opportunities still being reported throughout the day. Emergers and smaller presentations are worth having available, especially when fish become selective during active hatches.
Subsurface fishing remains productive with Perdigons, BWO and PMD nymphs, midges, scuds, and smaller stonefly patterns all worth having in the rotation. Balanced leeches and small streamers continue to be good options around deeper slots and structure. Fall River below Fall River Falls is now closed to angling through May 21, 2027, while the river above the falls remains open year-round.
