Fall River Report 6/25/21

Fishing at the Fall River has been really good, despite the crowds. Spring creeks like the Fall have more resistance to heat waves, but it’s more than likely that the trout will be hesitant to come to the surface. Your best bets are terrestrials, pale morning duns and caddis. Yellow sally stoneflies can be found out there too. Nymphing with small patterns increases your chances of success. Anything over size 16 is likely a bit big. Midges and small mayfly patterns have the most potential. Caddis pupa are good to try out too. Streamers can work super well, even big articulated one’s. Fishing around midday will probably be slow. Have lots of water and bring your sun protection, hopefully the extreme heat will pass.
