The fishing on the Fall River has been excellent! There are a ton of fish in the river and the ODFW folks have been stocking it quite a bit over the past few weeks. Rumor has it that they have been plunking fish in the Fall over several days last week. They are letting the big guys escape the hatchery and hang in the river. This is a great opportunity to go find yourself a nice large fish!
There has been a great PMD hatch coming off around 10 am lasting for about an hour or so. The fish will key in on top or at least looking up. Fishing with a size 18-20 purple haze, parachute adams, or parachute PMD is a great option. If they are not fully committing up top, throw on a nice dropper coming off the dry. We have been using frenchies, winkers midges, and zebra midges. The zebra midges have been most effective in olive or purple in size 18-22.
