Lake Report - 9/25/26

The Cascade Lakes continue to settle into their fall pattern as cooler nights bring water temperatures down. Crane Prairie remains back in the rotation with improved rainbow fishing, while Paulina and East continue to offer good opportunities. Low water remains something to consider at East, where launching larger boats is becoming increasingly difficult.

Callibaetis remain an important part of the mix, with midday and afternoon activity providing dry-fly opportunities depending on the day. Beetles and ants continue to be especially relevant around the shorelines and shoals, while chironomids remain important in deeper water.

Subsurface fishing remains steady with chironomids, Callibaetis nymphs, balanced leeches, scuds, and smaller attractor patterns all worth having in the rotation. Paulina has been producing around the weed beds and ledges, while chironomids and balanced leeches continue to be good options at East. Crane Prairie should continue to improve as cooler fall conditions settle in.
