Access continues to improve around the region. East and Paulina Lakes are open, though East is still without boat ramp access. Bank fishing at East has been productive with leeches, scuds, and Callibaetis nymphs. At Paulina, chironomid rigs and stripped leeches near shorelines have been effective, with Balanced Minnows working well under indicators.
Crane Prairie has been fishing well with good access and new docks at the resort end. Balanced Leeches and Red Ice Cream Cones are the go-to flies, but start thinking Callibaetis nymphs as they become more active.
Other worthwhile options include South and North Twin, Haystack, Chickahominy, and Lake Billy Chinook for bull trout.
