Hosmer Lake is fishing well at both ends, with Chironomids, Leeches, Water Boatman, Scuds, and Damsel Nymphs all producing. Callibaetis hatches haven’t kicked off yet, but they’re not far off.
Paulina Lake has been excellent. Red Pheasant Tails, Ice Cream Cones, and Red Holographic Jigs are producing well, along with Callibaetis patterns like the Cate. Access is limited—most are launching from the overflow lot or using the resort docks, as the main campground ramp is still snowed in and blocked by downed trees.
Crane Prairie is showing algae bloom activity, but clearer water can be found near the Deschutes, Cultus, and Quinn channels. Targeting fish in moving water or hanging flies just above the bottom continues to be effective. Early mornings have produced the most consistent bite.
Lava and Little Lava Lakes have yet to produce any recent reports.
