Lava has continued to fish consistently with a variety of subsurface presentations. Callibaetis nymphs, Chironomids, and Balanced Leeches have been finding fish below and indicator. Wooly Buggers, Leeches, and small streamers have been less consistent but a worthwhile way to keep the angling environment active at any point through the day. There are decent numbers of Callibaetis around on most days, and opportunity to fish dries with reasonable success through the afternoon. There are times when ants and beetles work every bit as good as a Callibaetis pattern, especially when the weather is hot or windy. We are seeing increasing numbers of Sedges in the evenings, and the last hour of the day typically offers the best dry fly fishing opportunities.
