Lava Lakes Updated 6/28/19

Lava has continued to produce great numbers of fish and is fishing as well as any of the lakes at the moment. There are stocked Rainbows of various sizes, and we’ve seen better than average numbers of large fish. There are good numbers of Callibaetis out that provide excellent opportunity to fish dries on most afternoons and the warm weather in the forecast should only make things better on the dry fly front. Indicator rigs and wind drifting have probably been the best way to find fish consistently throughout the day. Chironomids, Callibaetis nymphs, and Leech patterns are all in the mix right now. Make sure to move around and vary depth until you find the right combination of location and presentation, and stay on the fish when you find them!
