The Metolius has been fishing well. Green Drakes should be finished up now but nice caddis hatches are happening on most days. Golden stones are starting to become important and a dry-dropper setup with a golden stone and a small mayfly or caddis nymph 3-4 fet below it is a great setup. Nymphing has been hot and like we have previously mentioned a golden stone nymph followed by 10-12” of tippet and a small caddis or mayfly pattern is a great way to go. Tightline and indicator methods have both been producing fish. Stripping or dead drifting large streamers is a good way to target bulls. The Metolius is a great place to spend a summer day so get out there and get after some fish.
