Plenty To Go Around On The Fall

Plenty To Go Around On The Fall

There are still plenty of fish in the Fall and fishing has been good. We are finding most of our fish on small Midge and Mayfly nymphs or fished below a light indicator on light tippet, mostly 5X and 6X fluoro to avoid spooking those fish that have seen many flies over the past month or so. At times, the dry fly fishing has been excellent and we are seeing a somewhat consistent BWO hatch in the early afternoons that can last for several hours. During these hatches we are typically fishing a single dry, but it can be beneficial to trail a BWO or Midge emerger to find those fish that aren’t quite keyed in on the adult bugs. In general, the fishing is at its best from late morning through the afternoon so don’t worry to much about being out there at the crack of dawn.
