Spring Creek Fishin' In The Spring!

Spring Creek Fishin' In The Spring!

As the ODFW continues with their summer stocking schedule there should be plenty of fish throughout the system. Nymphing will continue to be the most consistent method for catching fish. As always, using light flourocarbon tippet in 5x or 6x will give you the best chance at catching fish. Micro mayflies, BH pheasant tails, and copper johns in sizes 16-20 are great weighted flies to help get your flies down to the fish. Midge patterns should also be very productive, good patterns include zebra midges, winkers midges, and beadwing midges in red and black, sizes 18-24.

If you want to target some of the larger fish with a streamer, an olive or tan sculpzilla or muddy buddy should attract attention. Lightly weighted wooly buggers or leech patterns are a great option if you are looking to get a little lighter presentation around spooky fish.
