UPPER D REPORT - 6/26/26
The Upper Deschutes has been fishing well since the season opener. Focusing on structure, undercut banks and deeper runs continue to produce.
PMDs remain the primary hatch, with caddis becoming more active during the evenings. Dry fly opportunities have steadily improved during the afternoon, while anglers covering water with terrestrials are beginning to see opportunistic takes as summer settles in.
With consistent flows and improving insect activity, the Upper Deschutes should continue to fish well over the coming weeks. As water temperatures gradually increase, look for the best fishing during the morning and evening hours.
