CROOKED REPORT - 7/17/26
The Crooked continues to fish consistently with stable flows keeping trout active even as summer temperatures climb. Fish are holding in the river's softer current seams, tailouts, and deeper runs, and they're responding well to anglers who focus on clean, natural drifts rather than covering water quickly.

Caddis remain the primary hatch, with PMDs and midges filling in throughout the afternoon. Dry fly opportunities have been most consistent during the evening, although trout continue to rise sporadically whenever insect activity increases.
Nymphing continues to produce the most consistent action. Scuds, Zebra Midges, Olive Perdigons, Two Bit Hookers, Pheasant Tails, and tan caddis pupa are all producing fish beneath an indicator or on a tight-line setup.
