East Lake Report 6/4/21

East Lake is fishing well. Boat ramps are still tricky, so make sure to take your time while launching. The heat wave has likely increased insect and trout activity, until the cool weather cools the water back down. As always, balanced leeches are great, as are balanced damsels. Chironomids, midges and callibaetis are great smaller nymphs to use. Strip leeches, damsels and streamers around if you're looking for a nice tug, maybe from a big brown. Terrestrials are the main category of dry fly to tie on. Callibaetis are probably not going to be hatching for a bit, but give it a try if you see some. Layer up if you’re heading up there this week, temperatures are likely to be around the 50s-60s with some rain.
