LAKE REPORT - 11/6/26

The Cascade Lakes are transitioning into winter conditions, with several seasonal closures now in effect. Crane Prairie, Wickiup, and Odell are closed to angling following October 31, while East and Paulina remain open year-round. Recent reports suggest both East and Paulina continue to offer good late-season opportunities. Snow is beginning to accumulate around Newberry Caldera, making road access and changing weather important considerations before heading out.

Subsurface fishing continues to produce with balanced leeches and baitfish patterns all worth having in the rotation. Streamer fishing has become particularly relevant, with Sparkle Minnows, balanced minnows, and smaller jig streamers providing opportunities for larger trout moving closer to shore. Intermediate and slow-sinking lines remain good options, while indicator rigs with balanced leeches and minnows can be effective through deeper water. With winter weather approaching, be sure to check road and gate conditions before making the trip.
