LAKES REPORT - 6/5/26
Lake season continues to improve across Central Oregon as warmer weather and stable conditions push us deeper into the early summer lake cycle. Water levels remain in good shape throughout the Cascade Lakes and fish activity has noticeably increased over the last week.

Crane Prairie continues to fish really well with indicator and dry-dropper setups producing the consistent action. Chironomids remain a major player, while balanced & mini leeches are finding fish throughout the day. As water temps slowly climb fish are spending more time around channels, flooded structure, weed edges, and transition zones.
We're beginning to see the first signs of more consistent damsel activity and callibaetis aren't far behind. It isn't full hatch-mode yet, but both should become a bigger factor over the next couple weeks if the warm weather continues.
East and Paulina have continued to produce solid fishing as well. Early mornings are favoring chironomids and leech patterns, while calmer afternoons have been providing better opportunities around shallow structure, drop-offs, and cruising fish.
The overall lake outlook remains really strong right now. Water conditions are good, fish are active, and we're starting to see the transition from spring patterns toward some of the best lake fishing of the summer.
