Metolius Update

Metolius Update

The Metolius is still fishing well, there isn’t much new to report on as far as insect or fish activity go. The trout fishing has been good, and we’ve still been getting reports of good numbers of Bulls being caught. Anglers targeting the Bulls with nymph rigs are probably catching better numbers of fish, but there are plenty of fish willing to chase down a big streamer. Big Golden Stone Nymphs are a staple food source through the winter, and October Caddis Pupa patterns will continue to produce for the foreseeable future. Small Mayfly nymphs and Midge patterns will be some of the top trout producers through the winter. Access issues due to snow have not become a factor yet, but that could change quickly!
