Hosmer Update

Hosmer Update

Hosmer has been fishing well, but we are seeing increased numbers of people enjoying the lake in kayaks, canoes, and on paddleboards. This can make the fishing a little difficult and frustrating, expect to have some crowds around if you decide to head to Hosmer. With the increased traffic, we prefer to fish early in the mornings or on overcast, cold, or windy days when non-fishing recreational traffic is minimized. There are decent numbers of Damsels and Callibaetis around, and fishing chironomids or other nymphs under an indicator is also an option. Fishing streamers has also been productive, and a white wooly bugger or small articulated streamer has been producing some aggressive takes.

Suggested Flies: Dainty Damsel #12, Mini Damsel #14, Olive Wooly Bugger #10-12, Dark Assassin #16-18, Olive Zebra Midge #16-18, Bird’s Nest Hare’s Ear #16-18, Soft Hackle Pheasant Tail #16-18, White Wooly Bugger #8-10
