Crane Prairie Update

Crane Prairie Update

The warm weather has been good for the fishing on the Cascade Lakes, and while the fish in Crane are still spread out fishing has been improving steadily! We’ve had multiple guides reporting solid days with good numbers of fish. We haven’t been seeing an overwhelming number of the large fish the lake can produce in the past few days, but have been consistently getting into plenty of healthy rainbows in the 14-18” range. Bigger fish are definitely being caught, but are a little fewer and farther between than they were last week. Covering water is still key, with intermediate lines and leech patterns being the choice method for finding fish. Fishing under an indicator has been producing the big numbers in the areas that have higher concentrations of fish. Ants are starting to make an appearance, and are a safe bet if there are rising fish around. It’s been a great start to the season for our guides on the Cascade Lakes, look for it to continue to get better!
