CROOKED REPORT - 9/11/26
The Crooked continues its seasonal transition with flows below Bowman Dam dropping a bit over the last week. The river is now running around 175 CFS as the irrigation season begins to wind down, making this a good time to pay attention to changing water levels and adjust where you are finding fish.
The hatch mix should continue to shift as we move deeper into September. PMDs remain important and have been showing more consistently, while BWOs are worth watching for as cooler weather settles in. Caddis and midges remain part of the mix, with smaller dries and emergers worth having available when fish begin looking up.
Subsurface fishing remains the most consistent approach with Perdigons, Pheasant Tails, Walt's Worms, smaller mayfly nymphs, scuds, and midges all worth having in the rotation.
