Crooked River Report 3/25/21

Water levels on the Crooked are still fairly low, however; the fishing has been consistent. Around mid-April there should be some more water in the river. Due to the low water, most of the fish will be stacked up in deeper areas. Blue wing olives and midges are still the predominant hatches. Expect BWOs in the afternoon and midges in the mornings and evenings. Skwala stoneflies are sure to be crawling around out there, especially on the warmer days. A size 12 stonefly nymph can be very productive right now. With some pretty warm days in the forecast we should start seeing good hatches of march browns, pale morning duns and little black caddis. Fishing should be really heating up with some days forecasted to be close to 70 degrees out there.
