Crooked River Report 6/25/21

The Crooked River has been fishing well. Once again, the water rose up to 255CFS two days ago. I don’t think it will stay up for long but i’m not a water resources manager. Hatches have been fairly small recently and with this week's heat wave, surface action will not be consistent. Terrestrials, pale morning duns and caddis are your best bets for dry flies. Nymphing with caddis pupa and small mayfly nymphs is the way to go. Larger nymphs have potential briefly after the water has been raised. Size 16 - 22 is most consistent on the Crooked. Fishing in the morning and evening will be the most consistent. This heat is no joke, bring lots of water and sun protection.
