Crooked River Report 9/24/21

If you’re looking for the best fishing in Central Oregon definitely consider the Crooked River. This week starts out warmer and then we move into cooler rainier weather by the end of the week. During the warmer days, expect some decent caddis emergences and pale morning duns size 16 -18. The cooler days will probably bring on some larger PMDs and maybe a few blue wing olives. Terrestrials may still work but I would use them as a searching pattern or an indicator. Nymphing has been best with small mayfly imitations, mostly size 18 - 22 in red or green. Midges in red or black have also been finding some fish. Small streamers have some potential as fall starts. The Crooked has produced some amazing fish this summer and we’re hoping it’s even better next season. Thanks for reading the reports this summer, we’ve got plenty more to come for fall and winter!
