Crooked River Update

Crooked River Update

We have continued to see good days and consistent fishing on the Crooked. There is a strong BWO hatch on most days and good numbers of PMDs in the mix as well. Fish are keying in on the emergers and adults so look no further than the Crooked if you’re looking to catch fish on dries. A single dry or dry dropper with a BWO emerger or soft hackle trailing a Sparkle Dun is the go to rig when fish are looking towards the surface. Nymphing has also been consistent, small Mayfly and Midge patterns have been most productive but scud patterns and small Stonefly nymphs are also finding fish. The water is low and clear, and anglers should minimize wading and cast from farther distances than typical, especially when targeting some of the larger, more wary fish in the Crooked.

Suggested Dries: Sparkle Dun BWO #18-22, Tilt Wing BWO #16-20, Carlson’s Olive Haze #18-22, Purple Haze #18-22, Sparkle Dun PMD #16-20, Tilt Wing PMD #16-20, Parachute PMD #16-20, Parachute Adams #16-22
