Crooked River Update

Crooked River Update

The Crooked river dropped last week and my guides have been loving it out there. Hatches are good some days and great others with a mix of mayflies from larger PMD’s to the smaller BWO’s that we will start to see more of as fall rolls on. October Caddis have also started to show up in small numbers, fishing a stimulator pattern can be a large caddis or terrestrial to a trout.

A few of my guides have started implementing euro rods into their quivers as this method is deadly and quite easy to learn. Any black jigged fly will be a productive choice throughout winter as the fish feed heavily on midges. Make sure your flies are getting to the BOTTOM of the river you should feel your rig “ticking” against the rocks.
