Crooked River Update

Crooked River Update

The Crooked River has been fishing well and people have out there getting after it. The bugs are still small and the hatch has been mainly baetis and midges but with some nice weather in the forecast I would expect some march browns, PMD’s and caddis to start to make appearances. Fishing has been best on the upper 6 miles below the damn where the water is cold and the flows have been consistent.

Dry Droppers rigs have been working exceptionally well and will continue to be a great bet as the bugs get bigger and fish start keying in to the top. Small zebra midges or two bit hookers are our favorite droppers and will catch fish in all conditions. the BWO hatch has been as early as 10:30 and as late as 3pm so keep an eye out all day for those fish to start rising in the shade or in overcast.
