The Crooked River is getting close to being fishable again. It’s sitting at 399 CFS this morning and we are excited to start hearing reports in the shop from out there. Someone in the shop mentioned catching fish out there when it was close to a thousand, so 399 is definitely doable. Many of the things that were working before the high flows should continue to work. Leeches, eggs, two-bits, zebra midges, caddis nymphs and scuds to name a few. Add some caddis, PMD, and terrestrial dries to your box and you’ll be prepared for anything the river may throw at you this time of year.
