East Lake Report 6/18/21

East Lake is fishing really well. Some excellent fish are being caught with various techniques. Terrestrial patterns have been cleaning up out there, specifically ants. Callibaetis hatches have been happening here and there, be ready with the duns and cripples. A small chubby with a nymph dropper could be killer out there. Callibaetis are great nymphs right now, size 14 - 16 seems to be the ticket. Chironomids are also a good choice, size 12 - 16 is a good bet. Assassins and birds nests are great flies as well. Balanced damsels and leeches are excellent choices. Stripping damsels, leeches and streamers has great potential as well. Slowly crawling a callibaetis nymph with an intermediate sinking line can also produce some good fish. The fishing at East has been really great, it’s an excellent time to head out there.
