FALL REPORT - 7/17/26

The Fall River continues to offer consistent action, with its cold spring-fed water keeping fish active throughout the day despite the summer heat. Trout are holding predictably along weed beds, undercut banks, lava shelves, and the deeper walking-speed runs, but they're becoming increasingly selective as water clarity remains exceptional. Anglers taking the time to slow down and make accurate, drag-free presentations are continuing to find steady success across the entire river.

PMDs continue to anchor the afternoon hatch, while Blue Wing Olives and midges keep fish looking up during the cooler portions of the day. Evening caddis activity has become more dependable creating longer windows of surface feeding before dark.

Below the surface, consistent drifts continue to produce the majority of fish. Smaller mayfly nymphs, Zebra Midges, Olive Perdigons, Two Bit Hookers, and caddis pupa are all producing, while balanced leeches and compact olive streamers remain solid choices when targeting larger fish.
