FALL REPORT - 9/18/26
The Fall River continues to be a great option as we move deeper into September. Its cold spring-fed water keeps conditions consistent, while lighter post-summer crowds can make it easier to spread out and explore.
PMDs and BWOs remain the primary mayflies to watch for, with cripples and emergers worth having available when fish begin looking up. Midges and smaller olive and tan caddis remain part of the mix, while ants and beetles continue to provide good terrestrial options.
Subsurface fishing remains steady with Perdigons, PMD and BWO nymphs, midges, scuds, and smaller attractor patterns all worth having in the rotation. Eggs, balanced leeches, and micro streamers can also provide a good change of pace through deeper slots and around structure. Lighter presentations remain important in the clearer, slower sections of the river.
