Fall River – June 20, 2025

A cool, damp stretch of weather could set up some excellent dry fly opportunities on the Fall this weekend. PMDs are steady, Olive Caddis are active most of the day, and fish are starting to show interest in terrestrials—especially ants, beetles, and smaller Chubby-style patterns drifted tight to the banks.

Overcast skies are stretching out hatch windows, and fish are responding well to delicate surface presentations. Film Critics, Elk Hair Caddis, and smaller Chubbies have all been productive when fish are looking up.

Nymphing remains consistent throughout the day. Zebra Midges, 2 Bits, Eggs, and small jig-style nymphs are all great bets in the deeper pools and along ledges. If things slow down, try swinging or stripping a small streamer through structure—some of the bigger fish are still holding deep and staying aggressive.

Traffic has been moderate, and this week’s cooler temps might thin things out even more—ideal conditions if you’re looking to sneak in a quieter session.
