Fall River Report - 10/2/26

The Fall River continues to offer good fishing as we move into October. Cooler fall weather and consistent spring-fed flows are keeping conditions favorable.

BWOs are becoming the primary hatch, particularly during cooler and overcast conditions. PMDs remain part of the mix, with midges and smaller caddis continuing to provide additional opportunities. Beetles and other terrestrials are still worth having available, while emergers and smaller dry flies should become increasingly important as fall progresses.

Subsurface fishing continues to produce with Perdigons, PMD and BWO nymphs, scuds, midges, and smaller attractor patterns all worth having in the rotation. Balanced leeches and small streamers remain good options around deeper slots and structure. As of October 1 the Fall River, below Fall River Falls, is closed to angling, while the river above the falls remains open year-round.
