Fall River Update

Fall River Update

The Fall has been fishing great, and there are really good numbers of fish around the tubes, hatchery, and campground right now. The ODFW is maintaining a consistent stocking schedule so we should continue to see good numbers of fish in the system. With the weather cooling down, fishing has been a little slow in the early mornings and tends to improve as the morning passes. By late morning on most days we are seeing a good PMD hatch that has fish looking towards the surface. Sight casting small dries to wary, large Rainbows on a beautiful spring creek like the Fall is an awesome way to spend the day. Nymphing is the best way to target fish early in the mornings and should produce solid numbers throughout the day. The typical Midges and small Mayfly nymphs we use on the Fall have been the most productive, while small streamers and leech patterns can be an exciting way to change things up and produce some explosive takes or tantalizingly painful follows from some of the larger fish in the system.
