Fall River Update

Fall River Update

There are good numbers of fish still hanging around in the Fall and the fishing has been good. Small Mayfly and Midge nymphs are finding the best numbers of fish, but there are times when a good BWO hatch has brought around consistent surface action. Light indicators, tippet, and presentation continue to increase in importance as these fish adjust to the system and the amount of angling pressure they’ve been getting, but for the most part many of the fish are willing to eat a well presented artificial fly. There are still plenty of the trophy and broodstock sized fish in the system as well. They can be pretty aggressive towards a Wooly Bugger or Leech pattern when they are in the right mood!

Suggested Dries: Sparkle Dun BWO #16-20, Hackle Stacker BWO #16-20, Purple Haze #16-20, Carlson’s Olive Haze #16-18, Tilt Wing BWO #18-20, Tilt Wing Mahogany #16-18

Suggested Nymphs: Red or Black Winkers Midge #18-22, Red or Black Zebra Midge #18-22, Black Two Bit Hooker #16-20, Olive or Brown Micro Mayfly #16-20, Olive Anato-May #16-20, Olive Soft Hackle #16-20, Soft Hackle Pheasant Tail #16-20, Lavender Soft Hackle #16-20, Black Lightning Bug #18
