Fall River Update

Fall River Update

There are a ton of fish in the Fall right now and the fishing has been great. The ODFW is stocking the river consistently at all of the major access points, so there are options for those looking to sightfish big Rainbows. Most of our success has come on the nymph rig. The standard Midges and small Mayfly patterns are producing fish most consistently. Larger, attractor style nymphs like San Juan Worms and Pearl Lightning bugs are also finding plenty of fish. Streamers are getting the job done, and are a great way to target the fish tucked into deadfall and other areas of heavy structure. There are some PMDs around, which provide opportunity to fish dries. Terrestrials will also bring opportunistic fish to the surface, so make sure to have a couple of ant and beetle patterns if you’re looking to find fish on the surface.
