Lakes Update Fishing Report May 5, 2023

Wickiup has been ice free for a bit now and we have heard fairly slow initial reports. It may take a few more weeks and some warmer weather to really get the bugs and the fish active. North and South Twin lake are both ice free and open and fishing has been good on balanced leeches and chironomids. Stripping or paddle trolling buggers is another good way to fool some fish. Davis Lake is accessible and people have been launching boats, no reports from there yet. We have seen some encouraging pictures from Haystack Reservoir and it sounds like the fishing on leeches out there has been hot. Prineville Reservoir is going to fill, which is fantastic news and gives us another fun boating and fishing opportunity this season. Hosmer and Lava are likely still frozen, no reports from there yet. East and Paulina are also still frozen.
