East and Paulina Lake have both been fishing well. Leeches, two-bits, damsels, dark and light assassins, and chironomids all picked up fish in 8-12’ of water. Stripping larger brown or gold baitfish patterns to imitate tui chubs is a good way to target larger class brown trout in these lakes. Wickiup has picked up a bit and we got some good reports on leeches and chironomids as well as some fish coming up for chubby chernobyls. Both Twin Lakes have been fishing well on leeches and chironomids. Hosmer is fishing well on leeches, chironomids and especially damsels both nymphs and dries. Better to hit hosmer early AM or last few hours of the day with the warm weather and because it is a very popular sightseeing lake. Lava seems to have slowed a bit for fly anglers as the fish have likely moved into deeper, cooler water. Callibaetis seem to still be trying to gain a foothold at many of these locations but damsels have been very active and have the fish active as well.
