Crane Prairie has kicked off strong. Balanced leeches and size 16-18 green and black chironomids are producing under indicators. Some access points are still snowy, but the resort ramp is clear and ready. Fish are moving into shallower areas as the water warms, and the bite has been consistent. On your way there check out our Sunriver location to stock up on some hot flies.
Both North and South Twin are solid early-season bets. Indicator setups with balanced leeches and chironomids are the most productive, but stripping small buggers and damsels will also pick off fish. Steady action and accessible shorelines make these good options right now.
Haystack continues to produce. Focus on 12–14 feet of water with olive chironomids on a slow retrieve or under an indicator. Midday has seen the best action.
