Lava Lakes Update

Lava Lakes Update

There are good numbers of medium sized fish to be found in Lava, which has been fishing well since it opened. Most of the feeding activity has been subsurface, although there has been opportunity to find fish on dries during an afternoon Callibaetis hatch and evening Caddis hatches. Fishing small, dark Chironomids, Callibaetis nymphs, and Leeches below an indicator has been the ticket during the morning and midday hours. Stripping Leech patterns and Wooly Buggers on sinking and intermediate lines has also been productive. With the number of fish and wind protection that Lava offers it is a great option for those new to stillwater fishing or looking for cover on windy days!
