LOWER D REPORT - 6/26/26
The Lower Deschutes continues to fish well, with opportunistic activity throughout the day. Golden Stones, PMDs, and caddis continue to provide consistent opportunities as the river settles into its summer rhythm. Fish remain willing to move during hatch windows, while subsurface presentations continue to produce throughout the day.
PMDs are becoming more consistent, with caddis activity building into the evenings. Golden Stones are still an important food source making it worthwhile to keep both adult and nymph patterns in your quiver.
We continue to find success fishing stonefly nymphs, PMD nymphs, caddis pupa, Perdigons, soft hackles, and attractor patterns. As dry fly activity tapers each evening, swinging soft hackles or emerging caddis patterns through riffles can be an effective way to finish the day.
