LOWER DESCHUTES REPORT - 8/14/26
The Warm Springs boat ramp remains closed following the Bench Fire, with fire crews using the area for water and staging.
Mecca Flats and Trout Creek are open for launch/takeout options for this upper stretch. Also, beginning August 15, ODFW is closing the Deschutes from Sherars Falls upstream to Pelton for angling and retention of steelhead and coho salmon. Trout fishing remains open under permanent regulations. The closure comes after steelhead returns fell below the threshold established in ODFW's management framework.
