Metolius River Report 11/26/21

Fishing at the Metolius River remains consistent. This week doesn’t have much precipitation in the forecast and the temperatures look balmy. I would expect to see a few October caddis hatches on warmer days, especially when the sun is low. The blue wing olive hatch should continue to be strong. Nymphing is best when the BWO hatch isn’t on. Baetis nymphs are definitely important. October caddis pupa are worth a try if you see some adults flying around. Stonefly nymphs and general mayfly nymphs are also a really good idea. Euro nymphing and euro-style flies are very effective on the Metolius. Our winter seems to be starting late; however, we could get a big storm any week, enjoy the easy fishing access while you can.
