Twin Lakes Report 7/16/21

Twin Lakes are fishing well. Shallow areas are likely too warm for catch and release fishing. Try to fish 8 feet down or more to avoid stressing the trout too much. Having a way to measure the water temperature is crucial. Dry fly action is inconsistent, but there are good chances in the mornings and evenings. Terrestrials and callibaetis are seeing the most attention. Nymphing is consistent with balanced leeches, callibaetis, chironomids and assassins. Damsels can work well, but stripping through shallows is not recommended. Average temperatures are in the forecast. Hopefully we get treated with cooler temperatures and some rain in the near future.
