Twin Lakes Report 7/23/21

There has been good action at the Twin Lakes. The water is still warmer than average. Dry fly action is most likely in the early morning or the evenings. Small callibaetis and terrestrials are your best bet right now. Fishing deep with nymphs is very productive. Dark assassins, callibaetis and chironomids have been working well. Size 16 - 18 has been the ticket. Balanced leeches have been picking up a good amount of fish as well. Damselfly nymphs are also an excellent choice. With some luck we will continue to see temperatures that are average or below average. Let’s all hope for some rain, it will go a long way towards cooling off the stillwater fisheries.
