Update On Crane

Crane has been fishing fairly well, the biggest challenge has been finding the areas where the fish are consistently feeding on the Damsels that have been out in good numbers. As always look for fish cruising in shallows near weed beds and close to structure for the Damsels to crawl on. Fish have been moving around day to day, so keep your eyes open and stay on them when you find them. The Callibaetis hatch, while present, has not been all that strong yet on Crane, so East is probably a better option for those looking to fish dries. Fish are starting to move into the channels in the lake but are still fairly spread out for the most part. If all else fails fishing Chironomids, buggy nymphs, and balanced leeches underneath an indicator has been finding fish. Throwing an ant or beetle pattern toward the occasional rise will provide the best opportunity for surface action for now, look for the Callibaetis hatch to grow in strength in the coming week.
